Isn’t She Lovely?

A twentieth fine August earth day
Occasioned a comical mirth day
…..I played with my sister
…..So happy…I kissed her.
Sweet Maezi – you’re FOUR – Happy Birthday!

Happy Barkin’ Easter

A beautiful, bright sunny day,
I just wanted to frolic and play.
…..But I’m stuck on my keester
…..Just waiting for Easter…
Those are BIG eggs for Bunny to lay!

Spring Fling continued – Maezi, guest blogger

My superior tracking abilities & keen powers of deduction gave me the edge I needed to discover Auggie’s trail.
What to do?  We are NOT allowed down the hill…however, the steps of doom beckoned me.  I had to find my brother.  I tracked the prints down, down, down – what I determined is….

Spring Fling – Maezi, guest blogger

…so…we’re not supposed to head down the hill.  In fact, it is expressly forbidden.  I don’t know what got into Auggie.  Or me, for that matter.  All I know is that it was a glorious day & there were tasty aromas in the air.  The rain had finally ended & there was a scintillating breeze [...]

céad míle fáilte

There once searched a young dog in green
‘Midst the flowers betwixt and between.
…..Though tales he’d been told,
…..Of a pot full of gold,
He discovered a wild Irish Queen.
A hundred thousand welcomes from your 100% bone-a-fide Irish bard – consorting with druids, in touch with the leprechauns & full of the blarney:
May you get all your wishes [...]

Two little hearts…

………………………..Long ago when their friendship was new
………………………..Two little dogs hadn’t a clue…
…………………………….But Cupid’s swift darts,
…………………………….Aimed straight for their hearts,
………………………..And now the fast friends are true blue.

Birthdays & other musings

Twenty one years ago today…my brother, Shaanti, was born.  I never knew him, because he was gone before I came to our house.  But, I’m told was lovely snuggly & sweet – The first “together child” in the family.  He liked lounging on chests & inventing his own games.

Sky gazing

This autumn’s sweet briskly cold air,
Makes me wish for a sweater to wear
…..While I gaze at the sky
…..As the clouds race on by
And the wind wildly ruffles my hair.

Giving Thanks

It requires a gentle nudge sometimes, but it’s always the right time to show appreciation…
So after the big feast the the running & playing & family time, once you settle in, be sure to snuggle next to one you love & say…”thanks”.
Thanksgiving we eat lots of turkey,
And prance around happy and perky.
…..We might play some [...]

Mysterious Nature – (Maezi, guest blogger)

Auggie & I went out this evening to check for intruders.  We like to to check the yard, the hill, the sun dial, the pleasant rusty garden ornaments…
As we meandered around, I noticed lots of strange little things.  Worms, pill bugs, lady bugs, & ooh, 2 butterflies – a gold Skipper & a Mourning Cloak.  [...]
