Twenty one years ago today…my brother, Shaanti, was born. I never knew him, because he was gone before I came to our house. But, I’m told was lovely snuggly & sweet – The first “together child” in the family. He liked lounging on chests & inventing his own games.

His most incredible feat came the time he unrolled a roll of toilet paper out the bathroom, down the hall, thru the kitchen, down the dining room, out the dog door, across the patio, & into the yard – all without breaking the 63 foot total strip of toilet paper.
That takes soooome skill!
He was very particular about his costumes & starred in a number of Two Little Dogs Christmas cards & other holiday scenes for many years. He never met a squeaky toy he didn’t like…and he was extremely fond of Pillsbury Cinnamon Orange Sweet Rolls on Sunday mornings.

An orange pom of cinnamon sable
Who liked to hang out on the table
…..Called himself Shaanti –
…..with a smile big and jaunty,
And his exploits were legend in fable.

You can hear hear a sample of his song here & read his story when you buy the CD from Two Little Dogs.
So, tomorrow, in honor of his birthday, & coincidentally on my Mom’s birthday (see, they were bonded – kindred spirits), I’m going to have orange rolls in bed, snuggle on her chest & then see if I can best Shaanti’s 63 feet of tissue record.
