An extra Jay, came over today & hung out in the rose bower. Is it Ruder? (see posts on 5-23-10 for a blow by blow account of the meeting) Very handsome fellow…but the weird thing is that he had a twig.

AND he came back at least 3 times with sticks & twigs – this rose bower isn’t big enough for 2 nests – I believe it is Ruder. What will happen? No fighting, just building…

He’s really beginning to get on my nerves! Jayne ignores him – sits her ground, but why is he hanging around? Doesn’t get too close, just hangs around near the down spout with those extra twigs…

(the top picture of Ruder near the down spout & the bottom picture of Jayne in the nest were taken one after the other through the kitchen window so you can just see the reflections on the glass – I had to work fast & couldn’t get them in the same shot because Ruder was hopping around up there, busy with twigs, back & forth bringing in the new twigs at intervals – besides, my paws get tired holding up the camera & waiting & waiting & waiting for a Kodak moment)
