Sitting, more sitting, days of sitting. Many bugs, More sitting.
& what do you give to Jays as a nest-warming “welcome baby” present? Worms? I don’t see worms all that often – only earthworms, only after a rain, & then I like to rub my chest on the ground so the worms stick to my fur. Really. It’s my little gothic jewelry touch. Not everyone can pull it off, but I think I look pretty good. It’s especially interesting when the worm squirms. & they smell. I like it, but not everyone does.
.
You know I’m the proud uncle & get to pick the names. They’ll be adorable birds. I wonder if they’ll look like me?
.
Which reminds me, really, I have to start thinking about names:
.
If it’s a boy: Jaycob, Jaymes, Jayke, Jayred.
I suppose we could go with the obvious: Jay. But then he’d be Jay Jay.
If it’s a girl: Jaycee, Jayde, Jayla.
But then again there are 3 eggs. How will I be able to tell the sex? By the time they leave the nest, I don’t think their colors will be in on their feathers…hmmm – I may just have to be arbitrary & hope that gender-bending names aren’t a big deal in the Jay world.
